Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language

DELE, are official diplomas issued by the Spanish Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science to participants who have passed a standardised test indicating their European Spanish language proficiency.

Conditions for registration Condiciones de registro

The test is exclusively for those who do not speak Spanish as their mother tongue. To prove their eligibility, participants must be a citizen of a country in which Spanish is not an official language, or, if they reside in a Spanish-speaking country, fulfil at least two of the following requirements:

-Spanish is not the mother tongue of one of the candidate's parents.

-Spanish was not the first language learned.

-Spanish is not the candidate's usual language of communication.

-The candidate has not studied all or part of their primary or secondary education in Spanish.
